Composite Cladding: Applications & Installation Advice

Do you want low-maintenance facade cladding or wall finishing with a modern look? Composite weatherboarding offers the solution for outside and inside.

Composite weatherboarding boards – also known as WPC weatherboarding boards – are durable, colourfast and weatherproof. Their smart profile and natural wood look make them ideal for cladding facades, garden walls, canopies and interior walls. Whether you opt for a sleek finish or a warm look: composite weatherboarding boards combine the charm of wood with the convenience of plastic.

At WPC Solutions you will find a wide range of cladding in colours such as anthracite, grey, brown and oak. Thanks to the tongue and groove system, they are easy and seamless to assemble.

Applications of composite cladding

  • Facade cladding: For homes, outbuildings, sheds or canopies – weather-resistant and low-maintenance.
  • Garden fencing: Horizontal installation as wall cladding for garden walls or fences.
  • Wall finishing inside: For a stylish look in the office, hall, living room or catering establishment.
  • Finishing of outdoor structures: Carports, garden sheds, pool houses or storage areas.

Advantages of composite cladding

  • Low maintenance: Never paint or stain again – simply clean.
  • Colourfast: UV-resistant and long-lasting, without discolouration.
  • Crack and split free: No warping or splintering like with wood.
  • Sustainable material: Made from wood fibres and recycled plastic – strong and environmentally friendly.
  • Smooth finish: No visible screws or open seams thanks to the tongue and groove connection.

Installation advice for weatherboarding

  1. Preparation: Mount a sturdy framework of wooden or aluminium battens on the wall or facade. Keep approx. 30-40 cm space between the battens.
  2. Ventilation: Always leave sufficient ventilation space behind the cladding. This prevents moisture accumulation and extends the lifespan.
  3. Fixing: Screw the planks to the underlying beam via the lip. Use stainless steel screws for outdoor use.
  4. Finishing: Finish the corners with corner profiles for a neat finish at the top and bottom.
  5. Surface: Provide a flat, stable wall. When installing on a brick or concrete wall, use impact plugs with screws.

Please note when mounting on aluminium battens:

Do you want to use aluminium battens as a base construction? Then we strongly recommend not to use concrete for anchoring. Instead, choose the sand-water-sand method or use our Pile-proof filler . These solutions are corrosion-free and do not affect the aluminium.
